1:6 scale miniatures in Australia? A question from a reader

1/6 scale mid-century-modern plastic chairs on display in a shop
Karen emailed me recently asking if I 'knew of any Australian shops or suppliers that are doing 1:6 scale as a miniature craft for older children and adults: not just the kiddie pink plastic variety?'

And I had to admit I had no idea. Is anyone able to help Karen?

They have a "other recommended sites" link or they might also have additional suggestions for accessories in 1/6. Looking at Blythe or Momoko instead might yield results on Google.

Ikea has one set of that size furniture with a couch, chair, little table, expidit shelving unit, black and white rug, and heart shaped pillow. The couch does have a pink slip cover on it.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Pamela, the IKEA Huset pieces are 1:7.76 scale, so a little small for Barbie (I did notice, though, on my pre-opening tour of the new Canberra store, that they have a second range of Huset furniture available: http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/70292260/ )

And the chairs in the picture were at Daiso, a Japanese discount store.
