Just couldn't resist trying it out...

That Hokitika yarn had me intrigued so I did the usual "well maybe I could just knit a little bit of it to see how it turns out" last night.
You know, like I don't have anything else to do at the moment (except work out just why they named the yarn after a small West Coast New Zealand town in the first place...)

Very interesting. So are you thinking something bag-gish or surely not scarf-ish - so passe.

In the fabulous stash I have balls of "stuff" (not yarn) that I collected, faux fur, that type of ribbon stuff like you're knitting. What to do with it is the question.

I think it would make a lovely scarg... ot bad. Whatever it becomes it will be beautiful as it looks fantastic in the photo.

I am sooooo sorry that I didn't proof my comment. I think you know I meant 'scarf' and 'bag'.

The scarf looks great - can you knit another one for Sunday?

Looks like I am going to have to add Hokitika to my never ending list of places to go before I die!!!

Yes, it was very very scarf-ish. I made it for the friend who gave me the wool, as a belated birthday present.

I still have 8 and a half balls of the stuff and am thinking it might make a rather nice cushion cover front in the right setting. One day...

Mondo - hmmmm.... depends if that's an order or just a suggestion.

I do have 6 cupcakes and 2 bags (plus something(s) to actually sell on my stall before I can allow myself some knitting playtime again...
